As the Indian Air Force celebrates 78 years of glorious service to the nation, I convey my warm greetings to all air warriors, NCs(E), DSC personnel, civilians and your families.
In recent times, our country has been confronted with increased challenges. As an Air Force, we have to be prepared 24×7 to handle all the threats and challenges. To project aerospace power, whenever and wherever required, we need to focus on acquiring a ?set of capabilities?. Speed of response, flexibility and judicious application of aerospace power are the key to success, whether it is a matter of safeguarding our borders or undertaking any kind of sub-conventional missions. The performance of the IAF in Ex GARUDA in France and Ex MILAN with UAE has been outstanding and our performance at UN Missions continues to be exemplary. Fire Power Demonstration ?Vayu Shakti 2010? at Pokharan was a great success and showcased our all round capabilities. The IAF has risen to the occasion whenever called for providing assistance in disaster relief and rescue operations. All this would not have been possible, but for the commitment and whole hearted contribution of the finest force-multiplier in the IAF?our air warrior! It is your dedication, involvement and professionalism in getting the job done that has given the Indian Air Force its enviable reputation and makes me a very proud man today. Well done air warriors!
On this day, I urge you all to brace yourself for the upcoming challenges of transition. The Indian Air Force is acquiring latest weapon systems and sensors and the induction and operationalisation of these cutting edge technologies will have to be with active participation and contribution from one and all. We must strive to learn and update ourselves and ensure that Information Technology is exploited to its maximum. At the same time all of us are required to be more vigilant and mindful of the criticality of our cyber and communication networks. Security of our assets and information systems is vital for maintaining our operational efficiency. On this day, as we look back upon the achievements of the past year with pride, let us resolve to better our own high standards. Each and every one of us must remember that each man and woman is important to the organisation, whether in uniform or civil dress. I also call upon all Air Warriors to acknowledge with gratitude the contribution of our predecessors, whose vision and dedicated efforts have made the IAF grow in strength and capability to become one of the finest Air Forces in the world.
Happy landings.
Jai Hind!
