Finally, N-liability
The Nuclear Liability Bill is scheduled to be passed in Parliament this week. The Monsoon Session has been extended to ensure that the Bill can be taken up in the House.
The introduction of the Bill was followed by extended wrangling between the government and the main Opposition party, BJP, which first expressed reservations on the Bill, was then cajoled by government to extend support, then threatened a last-minute retraction over an ?and? inserted between two clauses and finally came back on board after the government agreed to drop the offending word.
