The principal opposition party, the BJP on Monday ripped apart the UPA government’s report to the people. ?Even children who fail in exams are denied vacations and parties, so just what is the UPA celebrating?? wondered the party. Leader of the opposition in the Rajya Sabha, Arun Jaitley, said that the UPA government’s track record of corruption and graft made its unseemly for it to hold any sort of celebration.
?The 2G spectrum scam has been listed by Time magazine;s rogue’s gallery as second only to Richard Nixon’s Watergate scam in terms of corruption. The Prime Minister in the last session of Parliament was chiding the opposition on presenting a positive image of India to the world, is this the image he was talking about,? he asked.
The government, he said had been incompetent in providing any sort of lasting solution to the burning problems of the day like Maoism, he demand for a seperate state of Telengana and inflation and price rise.

The party said that apart from lurching from crisis to crisis the government had done little else. When Karnataka chief minister BS Yeddyurappa was asked about Congress president Sonai Gandhi’s referrence to ?graft in opposition ruled states? he replied that the Centre’s record was hardly unimpeachbale.
?The whole world is now watching what the Centre had been upto. Those who live in glass houses should not throw stones at others,? he said on a visit to Delhi on Monday.
