Turner Broadcasting System will soon launch a reality-based entertainment channel in Asia. Christened truTV, the channel, according to a statement from Turner, ?will be the only pay TV channel in Asia programmed to give viewers the opportunity to watch moments of real drama with real consequences?. The channel is expected to be launched early 2010. The company?s statement said truTV will feature unscripted programming revolving around the lives of real people. The channel will target audiences in the age group of 29-39 years and it will feature a programming line-up in over 91 million households in the US.

Ogilvy bags four bronze at London International Awards

The 2009 billboard, non-traditional, poster and print jury, led by Jeremy Craigen, has selected four Ogilvy entries for metals in the London International Awards(LIA) competition. While in the poster campaign category titled Caveman, Sour Marbels Candies wins the bronze statue, in confections/ snacks category, Sour Marbels Candies wins three bronze statutes under different titles at the LIA.

Indian consumers? confidence top of world

Consumer confidence in India has witnessed a steady rise and India tops the latest round of Nielsen?s Consumer Confidence Survey with 120 index points. Nielsen is a leading market and consumer research firm. Indonesia and Norway follow with 115 and 110 index points, respectively. Nielsen?s global consumer confidence index has also seen an increase and has jumped to 86 points in October from 77 index points in April this year, indicating a rebounding consumer confidence across the world. The current Nielsen survey tracked consumer confidence, major concerns and spending habits among more than 30,500 internet users in 54 countries. The survey reveals that Indians are optimistic and think the country will be out of an economic recession in the next 12 months (67%).

Vineet Kanaujia conferred Brand Leadership Award

Vineet Kanaujia, general Manager, marketing, Safexpress, has been conferred with the Brand Leadership Award at the Global Awards for Brand Excellence for his contribution in establishing Safexpress as one of the top most brands in India.

The Global Awards for Brand Excellence, part of World Brand Congress, are given in marketing. The objective of World Brand Congress is to bring together top marketing leaders under one umbrella to discuss critical marketing challenges as well as to honour the best performers.

In a press handout, Kanaujia said, ?Our brand has recently been chosen as the ?most promising brand of the year? in a consumer research conducted by ICMR, a research body. This research involved a thorough study of around 40,000 international, national and regional brands across the country.?

It is priced at Rs 1,200 onwards.
