Micromax has a unique thing to it?the company targets audience of different ages and likings, knowing fully well that technology and style associated with each gadget changes with time. This time around, it is gala time for ladies, that too second time in a row.

After the launch of Bling, the successor running on Android 2.2, Bling 2 has now acquired the center stage. The handset that we received at our desk was clad in serene white hue, with matt finished back cover made with Swarovki zirconia.

Mentioning about the back cover reveals that if your are trying the handset for the first time and busy opening the back cover, hold it. Caution is open with care; it is too hard and extra force while opening the cover might break it. Moreover, the 3 MP rear camera that takes pretty nice pictures has a Swarovski encrusted look, which earned 50-50 appreciation. Few found it cool and feminine and few found it way too flashy. The same embellished look can be noticed at the front, beneath the 7.1 cm capacitive touchscreen that also gained appreciation and cold shoulders at the same time by different people.

Matching with the feminine looks, there is a white leather carry case enclosed with a compact mirror and special pouch to accommodate the vanity stuff. The look and feel of Bling 2, encompassing its packaging seems ultra-feminine. The looks will definitely catch attention owing to its flashy bold encrusted look and soothing colour. However, few tech-savvy and gadget freaks would reach out to see the apps and performance, for sure. So let us cruise through the same now.

On the hardware front, Bling 2 is powered by a 600 Mhz processor with capability of 2G as well as 3G. Moreover, the phone supports quad-band GSM networks (850/900/1800/1900 MHz) and WCDMA (2100 MHz) technology. It also features Mi-Fi pocket wireless internet feature, which turns the phone into personal Wi-Fi hotspot on the move. Talking about the phone memory, it can be expanded up to 32 GB with microSD memory card. Due to the presence of a 3.5 mm headphone jack, plugging in any standard headphones to listen to your favourite music is possible.

The capacitive touchscreen was expected to offer delight, however, the response is not that good. The screen does not appear to be smooth when sliding the home screen or selecting options. Repetitive touch and careful swiping is required to be done.

Moreover, the usage of the touchscreen was a bit sluggish as well. The touch buttons worked quite well and responded on the touch right away. Moving into the intricacies, there are built-in apps such as Miroamer for enjoying internet audio content in one platform, Saavn for the latest Bollywood music online and Mundu TV for watching live TV on your phone.

The multimedia is nice to use and offers a fairly good output on headphones. However, the audio output on the loudspeaker was too noisy and shrilled, that particularly missed thumps?a major turn-off for music junkies. Another disappointment was the FM. The reception was poor and manual tuning took enough time. Also, the audio output on headphones wasn?t good, even on the full volume. Moving further to the connectivity options, the Wi-Fi works really well and sharing on Bluetooth and via a multimedia messaging system is also fine and doesn?t disappoint much. The handset is engineered with GPS to aid in navigation.

Last but not the least, the battery backup is just about fine giving a support of 2-3 days. This is adequate if the lady using the phone is a music-lover and takes it as her companion on the go.
