It?s time for a thinner, lighter tablet. Korean consumer electronics giant Samsung recently launched its sleek and stylish Galaxy Tab 750, touted as the world?s thinnest mobile tablet, measuring just 8.6 millimeters, in the Indian market. The company has totally revamped this tablet to give real competition to the iPad. Samsung has made this slate incredibly thin yet feature-rich and this will be amongst the first Honeycomb tablet to deviate from the pure Android 3.0 experience.

The Galaxy Tab 750 features Samsung?s own TouchWiz user interface implemented on the Android 3.1 (Honeycomb) platform, offering faster and smoother transitions between different applications. It allows more intuitive navigation to and from home screens and broader support of USB accessories.

Consumers all over the world are adopting easy to use and powerful smart mobile devices and the Galaxy Tab 750 joins the original 7-inch Galaxy Tab to provide consumers with a wider choice. Galaxy Tab 750 is claimed to be the thinnest mobile tablet available weighing a mere 565 grams. Combining the Galaxy Tabs? ultra-thin form factor with a lightweight design ensures outstanding mobility of this product and comfort in the user?s hands.

The new Galaxy Tab will support 3G HSPA+ network speeds of up to 21 Mbps as well as Bluetooth 3.0 and Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n connectivity to deliver rapid mobile download speeds and reduce data transfer times. Also, the Galaxy Tab 750 includes a 1 GHz dual core application processor for a powerful multimedia and Web browsing experience. In addition, it includes an Nvidia Tegra 1GHz dual core application processor for powerful gaming and multimedia performance. It comes with a 7,000mAh battery providing up to 9 hours of continuous video play on a single charge and a 16 GB internal memory.

Samsung?s TouchWiz user experience is designed with a Live Panel menu which allows users to customise and display a variety of content on the home screen such as digital pictures, favourite websites and social network feeds. In addition, the interface includes an application tray of commonly used features such as task manager, calendar and music player which can be launched while other major applications are also in use, including large file downloads and document editing. This Mini Apps Tray provides a mixture of convenience and flexibility previously unheard of with tablet devices.

The Galaxy Tab 750 is pre-loaded with Readers Hub giving consumers instant access to more than 2.2 million books, 2,000 newspaper (49 languages) and 2,300 magazines (22 languages). It also comes pre-loaded with My Reader that gives Indian consumers access to 17 Indian newspapers, 17 Indian magazines and 30,000 Indian language books. Furthermore, the Mobile TV application on the Samsung tablets gives consumers access to 55 Indian television channels. The devices are also designed with Samsung?s Social Hub, which aggregates email, instant messaging, contacts, calendar and social network connections into a single interface.

The Galaxy Tab 750 features a 3-megapixel rear camera and a 2-megapixel front camera, providing smooth transition and seamless 1080p HD video and flash playback for a rich entertainment experience. The device offers extensive Web browsing access through Adobe Flash Player compatibility. Flash Player delivers beautiful HD video, faster graphics rendering, and high performance on the Galaxy Tab 750 and is designed to take advantage of native device capabilities?enabling richer, more immersive user experiences.

But, is the Galaxy Tab 750 a real threat to iPad 2? Samsung Tab 750 has a larger 10.1 inches PLS TFT capacitive touchscreen with 1280 x 800 pixels compared to iPad 2?s 9.7 inches, LED-backlit IPS TFT, capacitive screen with 768 x 1024 pixels. iPad 2 has iOS 4 while Tab 750 has tablet specific Android OS, v3.1 (Honeycomb). iPad 2 has a better 1.2 GHz Dual-core ARM Cortex-A9 processor, Apple A5 chipset but Tab 750 is not far behind with 1GHz dual-core Nvidia?s Tegra 2 processor.

Overall, the Samsung Galaxy 750 is a sleek, elegant and lightweight tablet, and really gets as close to the iPad 2 as any other Android tablet.
