A host of messaging features packed in a slim design

Both in urban and rural India, today entertainment is on the move. A larger chunk of consumers are looking for affordable phones with larger screens, effective user interface, long lasting battery and, above all, the functionality that fits their mobile entertainment. That?s not all, increased demand for data, especially wireless email, is also driving sales of mobile devices. More and more, people want to be able to communicate, anytime and anywhere. The incredible wireless capabilities of the mobile device unchain people from their computers, and allow them to take their communication everywhere they go.

In sync with this prevalent trend, home-grown mobile phone brand Karbonn Mobiles is hard-selling its KT-21 Express, a touch and type phone with an interesting messaging solution. The R4,490-a-piece device comes with Smart Mail, a unique messaging solution that will enable you to send and receive email messages directly from your phone. It allows users to easily and securely access both enterprise and personal email accounts, synchronise email contacts and calendar, view office attachments, send voice messages via email and chat in real-time with their friends. Other popular email accounts like Yahoo, Hotmail, AOL, GMail, Outlook, and POP3/IMAP can also be accessed on this device.

The Smart Mail feature is a simple affair. This messaging service notifies you with a specific sound and a message on your screen every time a new message arrives. Even when the application is not running, the email messaging service on your mobile device is still available. When an email arrives and your mobile phone is in Push Mode On, the application will notify you that a new mail has arrived. If the Push Mode is ?Off?, the application will check with the server based on the intervals you set. Moot point is, you will never miss an important mail again.

Karbonn instant messenger (KIM) is another interesting feature in this device. This allows smooth messaging between users of supported Karbonn devices. Send messages from KIM over the internet and use a KIM PIN to communicate between Karbonn devices. KIM consumes mobile internet connection to keep itself in active mode. KIM not only allows users to communicate with users of supported Karbonn devices, but also it allows users to connect to their Gtalk and Facebook buddies individually.

The phone also brings live television by including NexgTV application, which allows users to watch almost 50 live TV channels on the phone. The phone boasts of a 2.8-inch TFT VGA QVGA capacitive screen coupled with alpha-numeric keypad and other features like dual SIM, proximity and motion sensor, a 3.2 megapixel camera with Flash, 16 GB memory support, Java applications, PC Sync, Bluetooth with A2DP support, GPRS/WAP/MMS/EDGE support, mobile tracker, dual torch, 3.5 mm universal audio jack. It is powered by a 1000 mAh Li-ion battery.

There are a number of other phones out there that you can choose from, but most of them carry a hefty price tag. With its sleek styling and easy to use interface, this phone is a fairly good choice and it won?t burn a hole in your pocket too.
