Mobile phones are the new age communication tools blended with fashion and technology. You can access latest mobile technology as well as business solutions and total fun with the ultra-cool handsets. Fly Mobiles has introduced a slim dual SIM phone with a good touchscreen and a great finish, all for R4,790.

Fly Glitz E146 is a sleek looking handset with a slim metallic form. The metal body makes it sturdy without being devoid of the lightness and compact factor. The 3-inch vibrant touchscreen is resistive in nature and is the finest component of the device. Now, if your needs are few and you prefer using touchscreen, then Glitz E146 is a decent buy. Yet, at a slightly lesser price you can have Samsung Champ, another good touchscreen phone, with more features than Fly Glitz, for instance the 3.5 mm jack.

Fly Glitz, as the name suggests, is a stylish looking phone with scarce external buttons. The switch-on /off button at the top and the sound keys are the only external keys it has, except for the push buttons to open the back cover, but that is the only purpose it serves. The phone lacks a 3.5 mm jack and has a proprietary USB slot. The camera is at the back with a wide speaker. The back panel has a metal cover, keeping dual SIM slots, a microSD slot and a big 1000mAh battery. The lid button needs to be pressed right to open the metal cover. Apart from the touch display, the front panel has a dPad with a menu along with confirmation key in the centre.

The 3-inch display is quite wide and bright with a receptive user interface, frequently requiring full finger press, since the icons are pretty large. The phone has very few applications and an ordinary camera, which despite being 2 MP clicks poor images and records poor quality videos. The speaker is as disappointing as the camera and can hardly qualify to be a music phone. E146 lacks a 3.5 mm universal jack and the proprietary USB port is so fragile that appears vulnerable when used.

However, the in-call sound is pretty brilliant and the handset has a number of connectivity options such as dual SIM, Bluetooth, JAVA, GPRS, Opera Mini etc. The touchscreen has a set of touch keys for instant access to features like GPRS, phone settings, phonebook, messages, calendar, alarm clock etc. E146 has an in-built memory of 7 MB that can be extended up to 4 GB with a micro SD card. The battery life impressed with 2 days of back-up on perpetual use. In a nutshell, a great looking phone with all the features you look for, and at a price you will love.
