You will soon be able to buy your railway ticket, when you go to buy stamps or post a letter at the post office. The railway ministry?s long-delayed project to sell tickets at post offices is likely to begin soon.
The ministry is planning to sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the department of posts and telegraphs for the purpose. ?The modalities of the agreement have already been finalised and it is likely to be signed shortly,? railway minister Lalu Prasad informed the Parliamentary Consultative Committee on the agenda of ?Marketing Strategies of Indian Railways.? The facility will be available only for buying reserved tickets.
