The labour unrest at Maruti Suzuki?s Manesar facility entered its fifth day on Tuesday with production in both plants being severely hit. While the company did not produce any car at the Manesar unit, which continued to remain captive in the hands of the striking workers, production at Gurgaon operated at just 30% capacity owing to the simultaneous labour strike at Suzuki Powertrain India which produces the engines for every diesel car of the company. ?The production at the company?s Gurgaon plant has further come down today as there was no supply of diesel engines and also transmissions from Suzuki Powertrain India Limited due to workers remaining on strike at SPIL plant,? the company said on Tuesday.
