Print at your convenience

Hewlett-Packard (HP) has come up with a new technology called ePrint technology, which lets you print from anywhere. If your printer is installed in your home PC and is connected to the internet, then you can take the print out even if you are not at home or in some other part of the town. It is only possible if your printer has internet connectivity and has ePrint service enabled on it.

ePrint is a free service and once this service is enabled, it assigns an email address to the printer and then you can send your document or image to the printer address and it will be printed. It supports different file types in attachments like Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, HTML, txt, PDF and image format like JPG, JPEG. To check the status and manage the print jobs, just register your printer and go to ePrint Center at http://www.hpeprintcenter. com.

This service lets you print at your convenience using a device connected to the internet and has email forwarding enabled. You can print using your Blackberry, iPhone or Symbian smartphones. For that, you need to download the ePrint application from the mobile phone provider?s website. Once installed, you can manage the printer settings like page orientation, size, colour or black and white.

Once you will activate this service you will get the printer?s email address. You can share this address with anyone and then they will also be able to take the print. You need to be very careful while sharing the printer?s address, since anyone who has the printer?s address can take the print out. But it also has a protected mode which lets you manage the accessibility of the printer in terms of users. You can manage a list of the users within preferred senders list, who can access the printer. The print will only print the documents if it will receive the email from the preferred sender list.

If you want to use this service on your LaserJet print which supports Web service, then you can simply upgrade the firmware and use the ePrint service.
