VAIO S Series from the Japanese computer maker Sony is the perfectly balanced mobile PC. It?s thin, light, and highly mobile, with long battery life that helps you go further and get more done. Every feature is designed for mobility. Literally, Vaio S Series is power in motion?see where it can take you.
Business users with an eye for style and speed will love the Sony Vaio SB Series (VPCSB16FG). It?s a 13.3-inch notebook that runs Intel?s 2nd Generation Core i5 CPU (otherwise known as Sandy Bridge), so you know it?s very fast. It also has a slim and light (1.7 kg) body that feels sturdily built. Best of all, it has a battery that will last almost for an entire workday.
While Vaio notebooks have been in the running, for quite some time now, this new Vaio notebook (VPSCB16FG) is not just an eye catcher but also delivers on the performance front. It comes in pink, black, grey and blue colours. On first look, one would be impressed with its slimness, balance and lightness regardless of the magnesium exterior. The matte finish over the metallic body makes it resistant to smudges and dust. The slots and ports on the sides include USB 3.0 port, USB 2.0, HDMI port and VGA port.
The led back-lit keyboard is designed for dust-free and smooth typing experience. The comfortable keys are big and are well distinguished from one another. However, the right and left click buttons are placed on the bottom edge and are stiff. The touchpad is smooth and is accompanied by aluminium palm rest on its sides. The display is good with passable sound quality and is equipped with 3D features.
Shortcut buttons include assist button with help files, Web button for internet, Vaio transfer settings, switch button, two speakers, ROM button and Wi-Fi switch. This device houses a unique stamina toggle switch above the keyboard. It basically allows you to toggle between graphics accelerator modes without rebooting your system.
Equipped with i5 processor, the benchmark scores were hardly surprising, and a score of 6151 in PC Mark test reflects the presence of superb components in it. In the Cenebench graphics test, it registered a promising 8.3 points. The battery back-up is of only 2 hours and 30 minutes on full charge. With a screen resolution of 1366 x 768, the 13-inch display offers good visibility and special effects. It has 4 GB memory and uses Samsung hard drive with 5200 rpm that is a little low on the features front in this otherwise solid device.
The new Sony Vaio is an easy-to-carry laptop with remarkable features and stunning graphics, yet at 54k it is a little overpriced.
