Pepper prices fell by Rs 196 to Rs 29,925 per quintal in futures trading on Tuesday due to weak export demand.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, pepper for delivery in July fell by Rs 196, or 0.65 per cent to Rs 29,925 per quintal, with an open interest of 4,803 lots.
Similarly, the spice for delivery in June shed Rs 194, or 0.64 per cent to Rs 30,100 per quintal, in 6,449 lots. Analysts said off-loading of positions by speculators following weak export demand mainly led to the fall in pepper futures prices.
