Pentair Water India , a wholly-owned subsidiary of the $3.5-billion Pentair Group, will soon set up a pump manufacturing unit in India . ?We are yet to finalise a location. It could be in Pune, Coimbatore or Gujarat . The key criteria is to apply suitable manpower for setting up the facility,? Mukund Vasudevan, managing director and country head, Pentair Water India said. The company, which has its global research and development centre in India , also said it would be doubling its headcount from 120 in next three years.

? India has been identified as our biggest emerging market globally. We sense a slew of opportunities from source-to-sink in the water management category,? said Vasudevan. Pentair, which has its presence in India since 1998, contributes about Rs 250 crore to the global turnover.

The company has established itself in the industrial water treatment segment and is also looking for a pie in the home water management and water purification segments this year, he said.
