The government appears to be in a mood to buy yet more time on the Telengana issue despite the fact that the Srikrishna Committee set up to look into the matter has already submitted its report.

Thursday?s meeting of stakeholders with home minister P Chidambaram would only be to hand over a copy of the report, with a more detailed meeting scheduled for a later date, two to three weeks away.

Members of Parliament and MLAs from the Andhra Congress met finance minister Pranab Mukherjee who cautioned them not to expect a decision on the matter from Thursday?s meeting. He told them that Thursday?s meeting was just to hand over Srikrishna committee report to political parties.
