Nissan Motor India (NMIPL) on Monday said it will roll out the diesel version of its first made-in-India car Micra next month. The company had commenced bookings for the diesel version of Micra across its 20 dealerships. The diesel-powered Nissan Micra is expected to go on sale before Christmas this year, the company said in a statement. The dealers have commenced the booking orders for the diesel variant in a phased manner.

In July this year, Nissan launched the petrol variant of its first made in India global compact car -Nissan Micra based on the Versatile ?V? platform at its factory in Oragadam, Chennai.
Since the sales began on July 15, the company has sold around 4,500 Micras.
From October, NMIPL has begun the export of Micra to more than 100 countries including Europe, Middle East and Africa and has set an ambitious export target of 1,10,000 units by March 2011. The company has 20 dealers operational in major cities across the country and aims to have more than 100 dealers by 2013.
