Punjab Infotech has announced a new IT Park on NH 21 near Ropar in Railmajra to provide opportunities as a part of its initiative to promote IT industry in Punjab.
The new IT Park at Railmajra would be a self-contained IT Park right on the national highway and currently has invited entrepreneurs for five plots each of 1,000 square yard and 2,000 square yard. Areas for commercial activities, multiplex etc have also been earmarked to cater to the IT industry.
RK Verma, managing director, Punjab Infotech told FE here on Sunday that ?the Punjab government has decided to follow cluster approach to develop knowledge hub in and around Mohali upto Ropar with integrated support services required by information technololgy and knowledge industry.?
Verma further informed that with four-laning of the highway under progress and international airport at Mohali, the park would be an ideal location for growth of knowledge industry.
Punjab Infotech will be spending Rs 8 crore for basic infrastructure development and has also tied-up with Rayat Bahra campus adjacent to the IT Park for provision of facilities including transportation, banking, shopping, conference hall etc. It has tied up with leading IT education providers and has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Rayat-Bahra Group of Institutes for promoting the IT Park. The development is expected to start by the third quarter.
