Japanese camera and copier maker Canon recently launched a compact and lightweight digital camcorder, Legria FS 46. The company claims this to be the smallest ever Standard Definition (SD) camcorder combining stylish, pocket-sized design with their renowned image quality. This is also Canon?s most compact and lightest camcorder range ever, with weighing only 220g making it very easy and lightweight to fit in your pocket.
For greater convenience and more flexibility, the Canon Legria FS46 has 8 GB of flash memory built into the camera allowing you to record over five hours of movies without a card or record to SDXC cards for extended storage capacity. Not only this, Canon Legaria FS46 also offers a number of advanced imaging features including a DIGIC DV II processor, a genuine Canon video lens and powerful magnification with a 41x Advanced Zoom.
The FS46 has a very compact size and the slim ergonomic palm design feels easy in the hand and very comfortable to use. All the buttons and controlling features fall right beneath your fingertips. Weighing 220g with the battery and with dimensions of 53 x 59 x 122 mm, the Canon LEGRIA FS46 features a 6.7 cm widescreen colour LCD, providing 123,000 pixels resolution viewing clarity.
Succeeding the FS300 series, the new Legaria FS46 is a stonking camcorder from Canon. It has a genuine Canon video lens with mega 41x Advanced Zoom, which gives you the freedom to shoot from a distance. The DIGIC DVII processor ensures the image quality is high throughout the zoom range. It also has the Dynamic Image Stabiliser, which minimises any unwanted movement, comes very handy when you are shooting on the move.
With Video Snapshot, it?s easy to create fun movies with music to share with friends?and you don?t need a PC. Capture short 2, 4 or 8 second clips with just one touch of the record button. These clip times mirror the length of ?one cut? in a TV show to give your movie an expert feel. Then simply add your favourite clips to a playlist, choose a soundtrack of your own and your movie is ready to share.
This camcorder is very capable in shooting at night as it automatically provides optimum settings for natural and detailed capture. It also provides users 12 different scene options to shoot during night mode. Capture the natural beauty of the night with Night Scene Mode. It automatically provides the optimum settings so you can enjoy detailed night shots, with faithful dark tones and reduced flaring from bright lights.
Another useful feature which I like in this camcorder is the Pre Record feature. The camera starts capturing 3 seconds before you press the record button. These are added to the beginning of each clip so you never miss that crucial shot. The Intelligent Li-ion battery also performed quite well; it can shoot for near about 3 hours constantly once on full charge.
The LEGRIA FS46 also enables you to record to Eye-Fi cards for easy sharing. Eye-Fi cards support easy, Wi-Fi uploads to video sharing websites. Supplied PIXELA software makes it easy to organise, edit and share your videos. A simplified user interface gives you quick and easy access to editing and Web upload functions.
