It is touted to be India?s first mobile phone with a built-in projector. To begin with, IN8810 V-Show is a slightly bulky phone with a glossy body and ordinary looks. Its front panel has a resistive touchscreen, a 1 MP camera and a D-pad. There is a projector mounted on the top with a dedicated projector button on the left side frame next to the mini USB port and volume keys. The right frame has a camera button. Meanwhile, a stylus slot is present on the left side. The phone comes with three speakers, one on the back and two on both sides. The back panel has a 2 MP camera and a lid, which covers 1500 mAh battery, two memory card slots and two SIM slots.
It has a highly responsive 3.2 inch resistive touchscreen, registering slightest of touches. However, in some cases, while writing or handling small icons the stylus proved quite handy. The interface is fast and colourful. The display features fixed shortcut icons for audio player, menu, contacts, keypad, image viewer, file manager etc. The interface slows down when the projector is being used.
IN8810 V-Show has a projector assisted by a scroll on the back panel for adjusting focus. It is a suitable device to give presentations, watch movies and photos on a projected screen of up to 42 inches. Projection quality of videos and files imported from outside is quite good. It has a 1500 mAh battery giving a decent back-up of 2-3 hours. Projector brightness can be adjusted between normal and power saver, but sadly in slightly lit up environment the projector starts to loose brightness and colours.
V-Show boasts of a primary 2 MP rear camera and a secondary 1 MP front camera. With the front camera one can look into the display, use 8x zoom, control exposure and shoot. But, because it is only 1 MP the image quality is poor, it seems worthless. The 2 MP rear camera with flash has more options like scene modes, effects, white balance, exposure control and 8x zoom. 2 MP is better but still average. Video quality at a maximum resolution of 720×480 pixels is also poor.
V-show disappoints with its bulkiness and lack of 3.5mm audio jack, 3G capability and WiFi. It isn?t good looking, but the projector is good. However, at its price of Rs 17,000, it would find few takers.
