?BJP fails to gain mileage from fuel hike issue? (FE, June 7) because there was nothing for them to gain. Perhaps the common man has understood the compulsion of the government. There is little the government can do about soaring global prices of crude oil. The low response to the hartal in this regard in Tamil Nadu is proof of it. In Tamil Nadu when the poor get rice at Rs 2 per kg and where hotels are reducing price of food items, hartals cause more difficulties and job losses. It is ?80% politics? (FE, June 5)

Heavy blow
The inflation rate is very high. And the main sufferers are middle class people and those who are living below the poverty line. And there is no improvement in the agriculture sector.
