LG Electronics, the world?s leading brand in consumer durables, has announced a nationwide hunt for its unique cooking contest, Mallika-E-Kitchen. The contest has been organized, for women in the age group of 18 years and above, to take their cooking skills to an international platform.
Mallika-E-Kitchen is a three stage cooking contest which will be organised nationwide over a period of three months. The contest will be organized in around 100 cities starting from July till mid September. It will offer a unique opportunity to the women across the country to exhibit their talent and get a chance to demonstrate their skills on a global platform.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Rajiv Jain, Business Head, Home Appliances, LG Electronics India said, ?Mallika-e-Kitchen is an endeavor to showcase LG?s commitment towards the Indian Consumer by promoting the spirit of tasty and healthy cooking.
The response from all parts of the country has been tremendous. After a huge success of this contest last year, we at LG look forward to establish ourselves as the masters of Indian kitchens & cuisines through this unique initiative year on year and emerge as pioneers in the field of Healthy Cooking. Being the market leader it becomes our responsibility to expand the awareness of healthy cooking in Microwave across the country and help increase its penetration in the interiors of the country. With such a unique concept, LG Electronics is bullish to further strengthen its presence in the Home Appliances segment. Mallika-E-Kitchen is an innovative concept with contests run countrywide to find out the best cooking talent. It will provide an opportunity to the winner to participate in the International contest organized by LG in September 2010.
The Mallika-e-kitchen winner of 2009 Ms. Taru Peshawariya from Amritsar was rewarded with a LG Side by side refrigerator by LG. The first and second runner-ups Ms Shweta Thakuriya (Jodhpur) & Ms Uma Vijaykumar (Hyderabad) was rewarded with a Front and Top Loading Washing Machine respectively.
