Left-arm spinner Murali Kartik cast his spell as Middlesex came within sight of victory in a four-day Division Two County Championship match against Glamorgan at Lord’s.

After Middlesex scored 361 runs in their first innings, Kartik wove a web around Glamorgan to claim 6-21 off 13.5 overs and bundled out the visitors for 106 on the second day of the match on Wednesday.

Following on, the visitors experienced more woes as they lost six wickets only for 120 on board.

Kartik was again at work troubling the Glamorgan batsmen and captured two of the six wickets that fell in the second innings.

Trailing by 135 runs and with two days left, Glamorgan look certain to embrace defeat as Kartik stands a chance to have a 10-wicket haul in the match.
