The Justice BN Srikrishna Committee on Telangana submitted its report to home minister P Chidambaram on Thursday. Chidamabaram said the report would be made public on January 6, 2011. The report would be first shared with the eight recognised political parties of Andhra Pradesh.

?The Committee has consulted all sections of people and all political parties and groups in Andhra Pradesh. The report is in two volumes. It will be carefully studied in the ministry of home affairs and will be shared with the ministries/ departments concerned,? Chidambaram said.

?The government will look into the report and discuss it with all major eight parties after which the contents of the report will be made public on January 6, 2011. Letters inviting political parties for consultation have already been sent,? Chidambaram added.

?We have given the way forward,? Vinod Duggal, panel?s member-secretary, said after the five member panel submitted its report. The report runs into two volumes and has given several options on the statehood issue. Refusing to divulge the contents of the report, the committee?s chairperson Justice BN Srikrishna said Chidambaram has assured them that he would convene a meeting of all political parties from Andhra Pradesh to discuss the contents of the report.

The committee was constituted on February 3 and visited Andhra Pradesh 28 times during the past 11 months. It also heard all political parties in the state and received over 1.25 lakh representations from different stakeholders.
