I love my brand: It’s fun, exciting and deals with beautiful moments for beautiful consumers ? somewhat like a merchant of aspirations.
My job is great: t allows me to do the things I love to do such as meeting consumers and trade partners to get insights into the industry, unlimited travel and learning trips, and leading a team of very dynamic and enthusiastic people who keep me on my toes always.
Most inspirational moment: There are many in my life but the most recent one is when a roadside vendor, a small boy, was selling copies of A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khalid Hossenni in pouring rain. He said some unforgettable words ?Sir, please buy this book and let’s have some sunshine in our lives in this rain?. For me, this is the most touching example of need innovating to correlate with what?s available and thus creating an emotional need where none exists.
The turning point in my career: That came in 2001 when I decided I should strive to become a good leader myself rather than working for good leaders. I realised that I was becoming very predictable professionally and needed to challenge myself to learn something new and different. So the next assignment I took meant that I needed to increase my learning, skills, work with more cross-departmental teams, lead larger teams, engage in more geographies around the world ? and all this meant that transformation was essential from a good implementer to a leader.
The first thing I do when I reach office: Talk to my colleagues and team members to decide what music needs to be played in the office for the day.
My favourite social networking site: I prefer to network in person rather than virtually.
In my free time: In my free time:
Average number of job offers I get in a year: I have never thought of quantifying them.
Brands I wear: Louis Philippe, Arrow, Montblanc, Polo and Tod’s.
