I love my brand: My brand believes in constantly innovating, keeping the consumer’s benefits and their ever changing needs in mind. It is a vibrant, enthusiastic brand and an authority in travel, being the world?s largest. Expedia is close to my heart because I launched the brand in India last year and have seen it grow since. The brand and all of us working for the brand are absolutely passionate about travel and everything we do reflects that passion and excitement.

My job is great: It’s a fun place to work and a democratic set-up, wherein I am able to experiment with ideas and initiatives. Each day brings something new, with interesting things to do from social, PR, brand or research perspective and the team to support me. Expedia being a global brand, allows sharing of best practices from across the world and thus has been a great learning curve for me.

Most inspirational moment: It was the launch of Expedia?s first brand campaign in India, themed ?Big Daddy of online travel?. It was an exciting moment for me as I was actively leading the campaign from conceptualization and planning till the execution. The innovative campaign resulted in high brand recall with our consumers, while also winning us awards for outdoor marketing.

The turning point in my career: Cross functional experience in business development, sales and marketing portfolios with the finest travel / hospitality brands armed me with a 360-degree understanding of the business, and I was able to use that knowledge base to position and launch Expedia in India.

First thing I do after entering the office: My day begins with a tea/coffee session with colleagues and catching up on what?s latest in our lives ? both professional and personal.

Average number of job offers I get in a year: Initially, after joining Expedia, I got a lot of job offers. However, as I showed no interest, I eventually felt like a freelancer referring friends for the vacancies that they call me for. Now when they call, they are quite straightforward and ask me to recommend people for jobs to make it easier for their headhunting.

My favourite social networking site: Facebook. Helped me reconnect with so many old classmates and friends, it always brings a smile to my face to see a friend request from an old friend.

In my free time: I am a fan of performing arts and weekends are generally spent catching up on a play or classical recital at Mandi House or Habitat Centre or then meeting friends at Khan Market. It’s a joke in my social circle that I can?t survive a weekend without visiting Khan market. I am also a trained singer and if time permits, I love to strum some strings on the sitar.

Brands I wear: Anything from Fabindia to Emporio Armani. I am an impulsive shopper and buy something when I like it.
