Hong Kong shares ended marginally lower on Tuesday, as wary investors shed some positions ahead of a U.S. Fed meeting, while China Shenhua Energy extended its fall.
The benchmark Hang Seng Index fell for a third straight session and shed 0.27 percent or 56.17 points to 21,022.93. The China Enterprises Index of top locally listed mainland Chinese stocks fell 0.26 percent to 11,940.47.
China Shenhua slipped 2.7 percent, extending Monday’s 3.9 percent drop, after announcing a lower-than-forecast quarterly results.
