Helios and Matheson Information Technology, an IT player focused on banking financial services and healthcare verticals, headquartered in Chennai, will be hiring close to 1,000 people in a year?s time.

Company CEO and managing director G K Muralikrishna told FE, ?We are seeing good traction in our business and will be adding more clients in the coming quarters. Hence we are in the process of continuously recruiting people.?

As part of ramping up headcount, around 300 people have been recruited in October-December, which is the first quarter for the company. It currently has a workforce of around 3,165 and in one year’s time it will have a workforce strength of 3,700-3,800 people, factoring in the possible attrition.

Muralikrishna said that the company has only a modest attrition rate of 12.4%. ?Especially in middle and senior levels, I can say that the attrition rate is comfortably very low.?

The company is hopeful of getting new clients through its US subsidiary in the wake of the Obama administration?s latest affordable healthcare scheme for its citizens.

In the December-ended quarter results, Muralikrishna said, ?It has been a robust quarter for us where our overall revenues grew by 38% and profit by 92%. Despite the holiday season, we were able to deliver a double digit increase in revenue q-o-q,? he said.
