Almost 7 lakh tonne of wheat has so far arrived in Haryana mandis during the current rabi season. Of which 692,362 tonne has been procured by government procuring agencies while only 24 tonne has been purchased by private traders till now.

A spokesman of the Haryana food and civil supplies department said around 180,431 tonne wheat was procured by Food and Supplies Department, 188,862 tonne by Hafed, 166,049 tonne by FCI, 38,154 tonne by Haryana Agro Industries Corporation, 65,316 tonne by Haryana Warehousing Corporation and 53,550 tonne by Confed.

While giving details about the arrival of wheat in mandis, the spokesman said Palwal district was leading where 167,121 tonne of wheat has arrived in the mandis till now, followed by Karnal with 107,212 tonne of wheat.
