The Haryana State Cooperative Supply and Marketing Federation (Hafed) is exploring new markets for promoting its products. The federation is looking at the Southern and Western states to launch its consumer products.
To begin with Hafed has started marketing its products in Gujarat and Bangalore. It has appointed a distributor for marketing of Hafed consumer products in Bhavnagar (Gujarat) and the first consignment of Rice has been dispatched.
A senior official of Hafed told FE that one container full of 15 tonne rice has been dispatched to Bhavnagar. ?Our consumer products namely Basmati Rice, Non-Basmati Rice, Kachchi Ghani Mustard Oil, Refined Soyabean Oil, Refined Cottonseed Oil, Branded Sugar, Desi Wheat, Organic Wheat, Desi Wheat Atta etc. are already quite popular in the existing states of Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Chandigarh, Delhi, Bangalore, West Bengal, Orissa, Jammu & Kashmir. With the introduction of Hafed’s products in Bhavnagar, we are entering new markets as there is a lot of potential for marketing the products, especially Rice,? said the official.
Hafed is also planning to enter the cities of Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad and Chennai within the next one or two months. It has also gone aggressive in marketing Mustard oil and other products in Jammu &Kashmir, Leh, Srinagar and Kargil.
The official further added, ?During the first six months of the current financial year i.e. from April to September, the sale of our consumer products has increased by more than double in comparison to the same period of the previous year. We have registered a growth of 122% in our turnover of consumer products between April to September and the target is to achieve a growth of 150% in consumer products turnover by the end of this fiscal.?
Hafed has recently started marketing its organic products as well by introducingorganic desi wheat and mustard oil which has been well accepted by the consumers in Haryana, Delhi, J&K and other regions. ?Organic Moong and many more products will be soon launched in the market. Apart from the domestic market, Hafed Basmati Rice is being regularly exported to Australia and Saudi Arabia. Due to its purity and quality more export enquiries are pouring in for exports regularly,? shared the official.
