The state owned, Gujarat state petroleum crporation (GSPC) plans to spend approximately $1.7 billion over a little more than two years for the development of Deendayal-West field, for which the company has submitted its field development plan (FDP) to the directorate general of hydrocarbons (DGH) and the ministry of petroleum and natural gas (MOPNG).

GSPC plans to commence the production of natural gas by the end of December 2011. The field development plan has initially targeted only the western part of the Deendayal gas field, of which DD-west covers an area of 24 sq km for which FDP has been submitted to the directorate general of hydrocarbons and petroleum minstry for approval on 18th June 2009.
