Sensing the potential of research and development (R&D) in the Indian market, Globallogic Inc, a product development outsourcing company is looking at increasing its presence in the country by escalating headcount and acquiring companies.
Peter Harrison, CEO, Globallogic, said, ?We will be hiring 2,000 employees globally by the end of this fiscal year (ending March 31, 2011). And half of the recruitment will be in India,? said . The company has also planned a capital investment of $40- $80 million in the next 12 months, more than half of which will be in India for acquisitions and expansion.
Currently, the firm has a global headcount of 4,000, out of which 1,700 are based in India. It also plans to open two new centres in the country by the end of this fiscal. Presently, it has four centres in India in Nagpur, Pune, Bangalore and Noida.
Globallogic focuses on four business segments – consumer, telecom, healthcare and enterprise. ?In recent times, we have seen healthcare merging with telecom in the form of devices and this convergence is expected to bring a lot of growth to our business, globally as well as in India,? noted Peter. The company counts Amazon, Yahoo!, BMC Software as its clients who also have presence in the Indian market. The firm?s growth will be a combination of organic expansion and acquisitions in the four countries comprising India, Argentina, China and Ukraine. ?This implies that in the overall growth for our organisation, we expect 40% to come organically and 15-20% through acquisitions. We are eyeing an acquisition in the Indian market, which would be 10-20% of our company size.?
