The repeated attacks on churches in Orissa, Karnataka and now Kerala are a matter of concern. Whatever the reason or whoever is involved in these attacks, the culprits should be brought to book without fear or favour. At the same time, the attacks could be the result of the anger of certain Hindu outfits over the so-called provocative speeches of and literature propagated by some sections of the Christian community. Any attempt at compulsory conversion should not be encouraged because it offends the sentiments of other religions and is unconstitutional.

That India?s ranking has gone down (?India ranks 77 on index for economic freedom?, Sept 22) highlights the fact that issues arising from the unequal distribution of wealth can?t be wished away.
