Crude palm oil prices gained Rs 3.50 to Rs 513.70 per 10 kg in futures trade on Friday as speculators enlarged their positions, taking positive cues from global market.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude palm oil for delivery in June rose by Rs 3.50, or 0.69 per cent, to Rs 513.70 per 10 kg, with a business turnover of three lots.

Similarly, the oil for delivery in April traded higher by Rs 2.80, or 0.54 per cent, to Rs 517.90 per 10 kg, with an open interest of two lots.

Analysts attributed the rise in crude palm oil prices to a firming global trend, triggered by a better trend at spot market on better demand.

Meanwhile, palm oil for delivery in June gained 0.6 per cent to USD 1,106 per metric tonne in Kuala Lumpur.
