Crude palm oil prices fell by Rs 1.80 to Rs 583.40 per 10 kg in futures trade on Tuesday as speculators indulged in booking profits amid sluggish demand in the spot market.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude palm oil for delivery in February lost Rs 1.80, or 0.31 per cent to Rs 583.40 per 10 kg, with a business turnover of three lots.

Similarly, the oil for delivery in March traded lower by Rs 1.70, or 0.29 per cent to Rs 589 per 10 kg, with a business volume of three lots.

Traders said profit-booking by speculators, subdued demand in the spot market mainly kept pressure on the crude palm oil prices.
