Chandigarh based Anand Hearing Care Private Limtied is targeting to open 100 Centres in the country in next five years. At present it has seven centres at Delhi, Chandigarh and in Punjab.
Addressing a press conference here, T.S. Anand, Managing Director, Anand Hearing Care Private Limited said that by the end of this year, the company would have 20 Centres in the country. In next five years, the number of Centres would swell to 100.
He said that the Rs 600 crores Indian hearing aids industry is poised to grow by 25 per cent per year. he said that the ?hearing care industry is recession proof industry and has huge potential?. Anand is all set to take his 11 month long venture Anand Hearing Care Private Limited on pan India journey. Anand Hearing Care promises all hearing dispensing facilities under one roof. After a long stint of over 15 years and establishing international brand Widex, Anand has taken the initiative to set up a chain of hearing care clinics at his own.
With seven centers opened within less than a year’s span of its inception, the company is on a constant expedition of growth in terms of number of centre as well the footfalls in the centre?s and has registered significant presence in key cities of Punjab and Haryana and Delhi. The Company has been organizing free hearing camps and exhibiting the latest technology in hearing aids.
Addressing media, Anand said that ?Hearing care centre are not any ordinary shops. These are specialized clinics run by specialists where we understand the stigma and motivate the users to live a quality life. One out of every 20 Indians is suffering from a hearing problem. “. Some of the latest technology hearing aids being introduced by AHC are those for treatment of Tinnitus and those with Wireless features for helping hearing impaired persons hear better from their Mobile Phones and TV. He said that ?The new centre would offer customized solutions to meet individual hearing problems, right form diagnosis to conducting hearing tests and providing hearing aids best suited to individual need and requirement. In addition, AHC Hearing centres also have facilities for speech therapy, ear moulds, batteries and accessories”.
Dr. Raman Abrol, well known Consultant ENT Surgeon who was present on the occasion agreed that excessive use to mobile phones was leading to hearing impairment. He said that two to three hours use on daily basis for two to three years could lead to nerve deafness because electromagnetic radiation was really harmful. He said that deafness, which refers to partial or complete loss of hearing, is one of the most common congenital disabilities in the world. As reported by World Health Organization recently, there are about 250 to 300 million people deaf in the world and two thirds of these live in underdeveloped countries and India has the largest share.
