Delhi-based real estate developer Central Park has filed a case against Indiabulls in the Delhi High Court over copyright violation for using the Centrum Park brand to promote its properties. ?Indiabulls Real Estate is using our trademark Centrum Park in its projects at Hyderabad, Indore, Madurai, Ahmedabad and Gurgaon. Hence, we have filed a suit against it in the Delhi High Court for copyright infringement,? Central Park CFO Neeraj Dhawan said.

The matter was first heard by the high court on November 1. It had asked Indiabulls to file a reply by November 15. As Indiabulls failed to file a reply, the court has set December 20 as the next date of hearing. Central Park has approached the Delhi High Court to restrain Indiabulls from developing, marketing and selling of any housing and real estate project as Centrum Park or Central Park. Central Park Estate is owned by Amarjit Bakshi and KS Bakshi.

The owners have interests in the automotive, infrastructure and real estate sectors. The Central Park group, which has been in the infrastructure development and real estate business for the last three decades, is currently implementing projects worth $2 billion.

Central Park is developing a five-star hotel, Pullman Central Park, in Gurgaon. The group, which is expanding into the hospitality sector, has also acquired land rights to develop a four-star hotel at the Delhi International Airport Aerocity Project.
