Castorseed futures prices firmed up further by Rs 101 to Rs 5,450 per quintal on Tuesday on speculators buying, against lower stocks position in spot markets.

Market analysts said apart from low inventories, rise in demand from consuming industries in domestic markets, encouraged traders to increase their positions.

Strong overseas advices also boosted the trading sentiments, they added.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, castorseed prices for delivery in April extended gains by Rs 101, or 1.89 per cent, to Rs 5,450 per quintal, with an open interest of 3,140 lots.

Prices for current month March’s contract also moved up by Rs 95.50, or 1.76 per cent, to Rs 5,530 per quintal, clocking an open interest of 9,420 lots.
