Cambridge University, UK, on Thursday announced the launch of Jawaharlal Nehru Professorship of Indian Business and Enterprise at the Judge Business school in Cambridge University. The programme would be in association with the Government of India, which is making a contribution of roughly Rs 25 crore.

The chair in honour of Jawaharlal Nehru, who was an alumnus of the university, has been established not only to promote research and development, but also to explore possibilities of partnerships with Indian business and academic institutes in the country.

?India entrepreneurship has come of age. The world wants to understand business culture of India and with Indian business going global, the new partnership between Cambridge University and India would go a long way to help both countries? Vice Chancellor of Cambridge University, Alison Richard said.

Judge Business School (JBS) has 500 students, of whom 15% are Indians, reflecting the importance of Indian government’s contribution. A D Meyer, director said, ?Indians form the largest chunk in JBS.? The chair will be headed by a professor and will have three Ph.D scholars.

Cambridge University is also looking for partnerships with top grade educational institutions in India. Vice-Chancellor Richard would travel to Mumbai, Kolkata and Bangalore in the next 10 days for the same.
