The divide within the BJP came out in the open on Friday, when the room of senior leader and former MP Satya Pal Jain in the party office Kamlam was vacated without his knowledge. The furniture from the room was also taken out.

In the office, Jain?s room is alongside the room of party president Sanjay Tandon, with only a partition dividing them. Jain is out of town at present. The partition was brought down and furniture as well as pictures were removed from the room.

Jain had earlier informed party president Nitin Gadkari about such developments in the city unit. A senior leader of the party said the move will create divisions within the party. Instead of working together, a wrong signal is being sent.

?The elections to the Municipal Corporation are scheduled for next year. At such a time, it is important that all leaders unite and fight against the Congress,? said a party worker on condition of anonymity.

Jain, when contacted, said he was in Shimla in connection with a party meeting. He said he will take up the issue within the party forum. A spokesperson of the party said the partition between the two rooms was brought down for renovation purpose. He said it was an internal matter of the party and there was no division of any sort.
