Barley prices hardened by Rs 11 to Rs 1,366 per quintal in futures trading on Friday following increased buying by traders.

Market analysts said traders were raising their holdings driven by firm spot markets sentiment.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, barley for delivery in August rose by Rs 11, or 0.81 per cent, to Rs 1,366 per quintal, with an open interest of 790 lots.

Similarly, the cereal for delivery in July also advanced by Rs 9.60, or 0.71 per cent, to Rs 1,357 per quintal with an open interest of 9,930 lots.
