Auto Sales March 2025 Live Updates: Most automakers have announced their sales numbers for March 2025, along with consolidated sales for the last Financial Year. Last month, we saw some big names post positive growth such as Mahindra and Toyota, while others witnessed a decline, such as Hero MotoCorp.

With multiple new launches, has fortunes changed for two and four-wheeler makers in March? Or will the upcoming month be the turning point as new cars, SUVs, and two-wheeler launches are expected in April? Here are all the sales highlights from March 2025.

So far, Ola, Nissan, and Royal Enfield have shared their sales numbers. Ola has registered sales of over 23,000 units in March, while Royal Enfield has achieved over 1 million sales in the previous financial year, which is the highest recorded to date. Royal Enfield has expanded its 650cc portfolio to multiple motorcycles and the latest is the Classic 650, which is underpinned by the same platform the Shotgun 650 uses.

Kia has also had positive sales, registering over 19 percent YoY growth compared to March 2024, while its annual sales also grew. The same can be said with MG as well, with its electric vehicle portfolio accounting to over 85 percent of the carmaker’s sales. Mahindra has registered 18 percent YoY growth with SUV sales. Toyota has achieved its highest-ever FY sales, registering 28 percent growth compared the previous year.

Auto Sales in March 2025 Live Updates: Analysis so far

From what we’ve seen so far, Mahindra, Maruti Suzuki, TVS, Honda, Hyundai, Suzuki, MG, Nissan, and Royal Enfield have posted positive sales. For Mahindra, the Scorpio has been the strongest seller while the XUV700 is a consistent selling product. The EV portfolio has also helped sales. For Hyundai, the Creta has been a hit and has led the SUV sales for the last three months in a row, while the Creta EV is yet to make an impact.

TVS continues its magic with the scooters, especially the Jupiter 110 which has seen a massive update. TVS’ all-electric offering, the iQube has also racked in numbers. For Royal Enfield, multiple new launches and its growing popularity overseas and in India with the 650cc lineup has played a key role, while the 350cc models are still the best-sellers in India.

Auto Sales in March 2025 Live Updates: Honda domestic sales up 2%

Honda Cars India Ltd. (HCIL) registered total sales of 1,26,151 units in FY 24-25, as compared to 1,24,173 units in FY 23-24. Domestic sales of the company stood at 65,925 units and exports at 60,226 units in FY 24-25. HCIL recorded domestic sales of 7,228 units and exports of 4,656 units in March 2025. HCIL had recorded 86,584 units in domestic sales and 37,589 units in exports during FY’23-24. The company’s sales were 7,071 units in domestic sales and 6,860 units of exports in March’24.

Auto Sales in March 2025 Live Updates: Creta best-selling SUV in Jan-Mar quarter

Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) recorded total sales of 7,62,052 units in FY 24-25. This includes domestic sales of 5,98,666 units and export sales of 1,63,386 units. HMIL also reported total monthly March 2025 sales of 67,320 units, (Domestic: 51,820 units and Export: 15,500 units), with a growth of 2.6% over last year.

During the financial year 2024-25, the company registered a growth of 13% with total sales increasing from 41.91 lakh units in FY 2023-24 to 47.44 lakh units. Two-wheeler sales of the company registered a growth of 12% with sales increasing from 38.51 lakh units in FY 2023-24 to 43.30 lakh units in FY 2024-25. Total exports registered a growth of 18% with sales increasing from 10.13 lakh units in FY 2023-24 to 11.95 lakh units in FY 2024-25.

TVS’ two-wheeler sales registered a growth of 16% with sales increasing from 3,44,446 units in March 2024 to 4,00,120 units in March 2025. Domestic two-wheeler registered growth of 14% with sales increasing from 2,60,532 units in March 2024 to 2,97,622 units in March 2025.  Motorcycle sales registered a growth of 15% with sales increasing from 1,71,611 units in March 2024 to 1,96,734 units in March 2025.  Scooter registered a growth of 27% with sales increasing from 1,31,472 units in March 2024 to 1,66,297 units in March 2025. EVs recorded a growth of 77% with sales increasing from 15,250 units in March 2024 to 26,935 units in March 2025.

“Passenger vehicle sales is expected to reach 4.3 million units in FY25, reflecting a modest 2% growth. SUVs continued to dominate the market with double digit growth and accounted for ~55% of new car sales. Tata Motors, after a series of reporting declines in YoY sales, it has registered positive sales in March 2025. The carmaker sold 51,616 units as compared to selling 50,110 units in March 2024, registering a positive growth of 3 percent.

Continuing its strong performance in the last month of FY2024-25, Suzuki registered an all-time high monthly sale of 1,25,930 units in March 2025, growing 21% over 1,03,669 units sold in March 2024. Of this, domestic sales registered 1,05,736 units, reflecting 23% growth from 86,164 units in March last year. Exports for the month totalled 20,194 units, surpassing the 17,505 units exported in March 2024.

Auto Sales in March 2025 Live Updates: Suzuki annual sales up 11%

Suzuki Motorcycle India concluded FY2024-25 with its highest-ever annual sales of 12,56,161 units. This reflects 11% growth over 11,33,902 units sold in FY2023-24.

 

The total sales for the FY 2024-25 include domestic sales of 10,45,662 units, a 14% rise from 9,21,009 units sold in the last financial year. Suzuki exported 2,10,499 units during the same period compared to 2,12,893 units exported in FY2023-24.

Maruti Suzuki has one model in its CV space, the Super Carry. In March 2025, the company sold 2,391 units as compared to 3,612 units sold in March 2024, however, when taking the whole financial year into account, Maruti Suzuki sold 34,492 units of the Super Carry compared to selling 33,763 units in the previous financial year.

In March 2025, Maruti Suzuki India Limited sold a total of 1,92,984 units. Total sales in the month include domestic sales of 1,53,134 units, sales to other OEM of 6,882 units and exports of 32,968 units.

For the financial year 2024-25, the Company posted its highest ever total sales of 22,34,266 units. Total sales include highest ever domestic sales of 17,95,259 units and highest ever exports of 3,32,585 units.

    Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) today announced its highest-ever sales in a financial year. For FY24-25, TKM sold 3,37,148 units, recording a double-digit growth of 28% compared to 2,63,512 units sold in FY23-24. YoY sales stood at 30,043 units compared to March 2024’s 27,180 units, registering 11 percent growth. Of the total sales in March 2025, domestic sales accounted for 28,373 units, while exports contributed 1,670 units.

    Kia‘s quarterly sales stood at 75,576 units, marking a 15.6% increase over the 65,369 units sold in the same period last year.
