The 1.2-litre petrol engine is tuned to make 88 bhp of power and a peak torque of 110 Nm. Alternatively, the 1.5-litre diesel engine develops 99 bhp of power along with 200Nm of torque.
12:05 pm: The boot space on the Honda Amaze 2018 has also got a significant boost, the total boot space going up to 420 litres, which is 20 litres more than the outgoing car. According to Ronak who drove the car in Bangalore, the trunk is likely to fit a medium-sized suitcase and a golf bag with ease. There is a small button on the fifth door to open the boot however the size of the button is too small and takes time to locate it
12: 00 pm: Price wise expect the new 2018 Honda Amaze to command a premium over the outgoing model. We expect 2018 Amaze to launch at a price of about 50,000 more than the outgoing model. We have driven the all-new Amaze ahead of the launch in Bangalore, to know everything about what the new Amaze is like check out our review here.
11:50 am: Honda’s Amaze has been one of the strong volume drivers for Honda Cars India. Selling a total of more than 2.5 lakh cars since its launch. However, yearly sales have understandably slacked in the 2016-17 financial year Honda sold 33,758 units. While only 21,668 units were sold last year, as the competition heated up with a new Dzire and a new Hyundai Xcent entering the segment.
11:45 am: Based on an all-new platform the 2018 Honda Amaze has grown in size, the length has marginally gone up by 5 mm to 3995mm, width has increased by 15mm to 1696mm and the Amaze is taller by 5mm than the outgoing Honda Amaze. The wheelbase has been increased by 65mm to 2470mm. Overall, the added size adds to the road presence of the Amaze, as well as facilitating new room on the inside. Shoulder room and leg-room are significantly improved.
11:30 am: In terms of exterior design and styling, the new 2018 Honda Amaze gets two prominent cues, to sinewy shut lines, draw attention to the increased road presence of the Amaze. Like a prominent line runs between the grills and the headlamp cluster, makes the Honda Amaze look broader. The second line connects the roof to the bonnet makes the Amaze look sleeker. The two go well to contrast each other adding to the appeal of the Honda Amaze. Wheel size has also been increased from a 14-inch rim to a 15-inch aluminium alloy.
11:25 am: Some of the major changes on the new 2018 Honda Amaze are in the cabin, which now has a fresh styling in comparison with the outgoing version. The new car gets a seven-inch Digipad infotainment system which supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Other updates are more subtle and work towards making the cabin seem roomier.

11:15 am: The Honda Amaze 2018 is likely to launch at a retail price with a premium of about 40,000 to 50,000 over the outgoing model. With an aggressive pricing strategy, we expect that the Honda Amaze will likely be a tour de force in the compact-sedan segment, if not one of the front-runner.
11:10 am: In terms of safety features, the Honda Amaze gets dual airbags, ABS with Electronic Brake-Force Distribution (EBD) and a rear parking camera. Although the CVT variants skip the feature as standard in favour of sensors. Honda has been working on a more rigid platform for the Amaze which is a lot stronger and Honda claims that in the event of a crash, the chassis takes a lot of the impact away from the cabin.
11:00 am: Now if you are one of the people to book the Amaze ahead of the launch, there are a few things that one needs to know. For one, the introductory price is only applicable if you take delivery of your car by the 31st of July 2018. Honda also stipulates that once prices have been launched the customers will have 10 days to decide on a trim and colour. If the trim and colour are not available, then the customer is eligible to take their booking amount back in full or delay delivery or skip the introductory offer price.
10:55 am: Interior trims on the Honda Amaze have been given some added quality, Honda have used the contrast of Black and beige on the interiors to create a larger sense of space. None the less, thanks to the updated dimensions, the actual space inside the cabin has also been given an overhaul. The plastics used on the dash are up to par and feel premium, however, the finishing around the roof is too soft and not up to the market standard in 2018.

10:40 am: Big changes have been made in the cabin adding to the fresh factor of the 2018 Honda Amaze. The 7-inch Digipad infotainment system adds to the Amaze’ appeal with Android Auto and Apple car play support. Other updates are more subtle and work towards making the cabin seem roomier
10:35 am: The diesel CVT was of the things that really set the Honda apart from the competition, we drove the new Amaze a few months ago and we felt that while the CVT might take away from the 1.5-litre diesel motor’s already bland performance, the overall appeal of an automatic for city driving is still there. It is a boon for rush-hour and with diesel economy, the Amaze diesel CVT is likely to get a lot of value.
10:30 am: Honda’s Amaze 2018 does miss out on cruise control, not a big miss, but will take a notch away from the Amaze’s feature pack appeal. Although honestly, for a car like an Amaze, that spends most of it’s time inside the confines of the city. We are glad that Honda saved on a gimmicky feature that would have ultimately cost the customer a premium on whatever he was already paying.

Bringing the Amaze to par with the competition. The Resistive interface is a nice touch, adding to an increased user experience index.

10:10 am: The front fascia of the all-new Amaze will benefit from Honda’s new Signature ‘Solid Wing Face’ that is reminiscent of the Honda Amaze’s bigger siblings including the Accord and the new Honda Civic. Enunciated by strong character lines starting at the front grille, the idea has been to increase the 2018 Honda Amaze’s road presence by making it look lower and wider.

The wheelbase has been increased by 65mm to 2470mm. The increased dimensions work towards making the Amaze handle better with more stability coming in thanks to the increased wheelbase.
