Net FDI into India plunges 96.5% due to increased repatriation
Net FDI into India in FY25 dropped by 96.5%, reaching a record low of $353 million. This was due to a booming IPO market, leading to foreign investors like Alpha Wave Global and Partners Group exiting with multi-billion-dollar returns. Indian companies also invested heavily overseas, while PE/VC exits hit $26.7 billion. Gross inward FDI grew by 13.7% to $81 billion.
