Financial Times, Japanese daily sue Perplexity AI; seek Rs 130 cr in damage
Financial Times and a Japanese daily have sued Perplexity AI for using their articles without permission to train its chatbot. The media group believes this damages their credibility and threatens democracy. They are seeking 2.2bn yen in damages and an injunction. Other news publishers, such as Wall Street Journal and New York Post, have also taken legal action against tech companies.
