Subdued crude puts a lid on fuel inflation
Fuel and power inflation in India has been on a downward trend for 10 quarters due to steady petrol and diesel prices since March 15, 2024. This, coupled with lower prices of non-subsidised LPG and aviation turbine fuel, resulted in a decline in the WPI fuel and power sub-index. The consumer price index also recorded a decrease in the fuel and light sub-index for six quarters before mild increase.
