Hollywood star and motorsport enthusiast Keanu Reeves will host and executive produce a multi-part documentary series chronicling the Cadillac Formula 1 Team’s path to joining the F1 grid in 2026. This unscripted series, produced in collaboration with North One and Reeves’ KR+SH Productions, follows the success of his Emmy-winning Brawn: The Impossible Formula 1 Story. According to Formula1.com, with exclusive access granted by Cadillac, TWG Motorsports, and General Motors (GM), the documentary will offer an intimate look at the creation of F1’s 11th team, set to debut at the 2026 Australian Grand Prix. The series aims to capture the challenges, ambition, and innovation behind building a competitive American team in a sport dominated by European giants, tapping into F1’s growing US popularity.

Cadillac’s bold entry into Formula 1

Cadillac’s journey to F1, backed by TWG Motorsports and GM, marks a significant milestone as the first American team to join the grid in over a decade. Approved by the FIA in March 2025 after a rigorous two-year process, the team, led by former Virgin Racing boss Graeme Lowdon, is racing against time to prepare for 2026. Operating from temporary Silverstone warehouses and a future headquarters in Fishers, Indianapolis, Cadillac is assembling 400 of its required 600 staff and designing cars to compete with Ferrari power units initially, with plans for in-house engines by 2029.

Keanu Reeves’ role and vision

Reeves, a known racing enthusiast who competed at Indianapolis Motor Speedway in 2024, brings passion and credibility to the project. “I’m very honoured and excited to tell the remarkable Cadillac Formula 1 Team story,” he said, emphasising the goal to “showcase what it takes to participate in one of the most exclusive sports arenas in the world” (Formula1.com). Partnering with Emmy-winning director Simon Hammerson and BAFTA-winning producer Neil Duncanson, Reeves aims to captivate both F1 fans and new audiences. The series, set to air before Cadillac’s 2026 debut, promises a gripping narrative of resilience and ambition.
