Tata Motors is the undisputed leader in the passenger electric vehicle market in India, commanding a market share of almost 50 percent of total sales. A major reason for this is the fact that Tata was one of the first mass-market brands to launch an EV in India. This happened with the introduction of Tiago EV and Tigor EV in 2019.

The Tiago held the distinction of being the most affordable electric car in India for a long time until MG Motor India launched the Comet EV last year. Currently priced at Rs 7.99 lakh (ex-showroom, starting), the battery-powered Tiago is also a very popular choice for the fleet segment.

As 2024 comes to a close, Tata Motors has quietly made a few updates to the Tiago EV. For starters, the Tiago EV now comes with four colour options including Pristine White, Midnight Plum, Teal Blue, Daytona Grey and Tropical Mist. Earlier, Tata Motors offered the Tiago EV in five shades which means the Midnight Plum shade has been removed from the palette. This colour option is discontinued with immediate effect and dealerships have been notified about the same.

Earlier this year, the Tiago EV gained a couple of features in the form of a C-type fast charging port and an automatic IRVM. Besides these updates, the Tiago EV remains unchanged.

Tiago EV comes with two battery pack options: 19.2 kWh pack with Medium Range and 24 kWh pack with Long Range models. The former promises a range of 250 km on a single charge and delivers energy to a 45kW electric motor which churns out 110 Nm of torque. The latter, on the other hand, claims a single-charge range of 315 km and is mated to a 55 kW electric motor which kicks out 114 Nm of torque.
