Mahindra & Mahindra’s electric origin SUV range has crossed the 30,000-unit sales milestone within seven months of customer deliveries, marking one of the fastest scale-ups recorded by any electric SUV portfolio, the company said on Wednesday.
The XEV 9e and BE 6, the company’s first two INGLO-based models, have averaged one unit sold every 10 minutes since their rollout, it added. The SUVs, launched during in November 2024, have completed their first year in the market.

Mahindra said the cumulative volumes have exceeded internal projections and helped the EV portfolio secure the number-one revenue market share in the first half of FY26. According to the company, revenue from the two models has already crossed Rs 8,000 crore.
The performance has been accompanied by a significant shift in Mahindra’s buyer mix, with 80% of customers for the XEV 9e and BE 6 being first-time Mahindra owners. The company said the buyer base largely comprises luxury intenders, young urban professionals, tech-inclined families and design-driven customers.
Beyond the Range Claim
The company said that the SUVs have increasingly become primary vehicles in most households rather than secondary additions. Usage data shared by the company shows that 65% of owners drive their electric origin SUV every working day. More than 1,000 units have crossed the 20,000 km mark within seven months of ownership, and some have already surpassed 50,000 km. Around 70% of the fleet clocks more than 1,000 km a month, while 10% crosses 3,000 km. Nearly 60% of the vehicles have delivered over 500 km of real-world city driving range.
The company said the SUVs have been deployed regularly for long-distance travel as well. About 30% of customers have completed single-day journeys of 400 km or more.
The BE 6 has emerged as a design-centric lifestyle EV and has developed a strong digital community. Mahindra said owners have created an active social-media trend around custom paint jobs and exterior modifications.
Mahindra added that the launch of the electric origin range generated more than 4 billion views across online platforms, placing the XEV 9e and BE 6 among the most discussed Indian automobiles of the year.
The BE 6 and XEV 9e are offered with 59 kWh and 79 kWh battery packs, both claiming a combined real-world range of over 500 km across city and highway use. The BE 6 is priced between Rs 18,90,000 and Rs 28,54,000 (ex-showroom), while the XEV 9e is positioned between Rs 21,90,000 and Rs 31,25,000 (ex-showroom).
Mahindra will introduce its third electric origin SUV, the XEV 9S, on November 27.
