Honda Cars India has recently launched the spruced-up City Sport at Rs 14.89 lakh, ex-showroom. The new limited edition City is only available with an automatic transmission. We take a look at how it compares against its standard version, the V trim.
Honda City Sport vs Standard City: Price
Honda City is available in manual and CVT automatic options, and both come in four trims. As City Sport is only available in automatic, it is slotted above the V trim, which costs Rs 14.89 lakh, ex-showroom. The V, on the other hand, is priced at Rs 14.40 lakh, ex-showroom. With the City Sporty costing Rs 49,000 more than the V, we find out if it’s worth the additional money.
Honda City Sport vs Standard City: Exteriors
One has to admit that the blacked-out elements in the City Sport give it that added flair and an aggressive road presence. It has a dark front grille with a black chrome strip. The design remains the same as the standard version, as the Sport continues to use projector headlights with LED DRLs and halogen fog lamps.
From the side, the silhouette and character lines remain the same between the two, but the City Sport gets 15-inch smoked grey coloured alloy wheels while the V trim gets silver coloured alloys. While the Sport boasts contrasting black outside rearview mirrors, the standard City gets body coloured ones. The rear gets additional dark elements in the Sport like the rear spoiler, lower part of the bumper and the tail lamps. The City V variant continues to stick to body colour panels.
Honda City Sport vs Standard City: Interiors
Major differences can be seen in the cabin as the Sport is all-black with a bold red panel on the dashboard, red stitches on the gear stick, steering wheel and the seats and 7-colour rhythmic ambient lights. The City V offers the traditional black and beige interiors with metal inserts on the air conditioning vents, central console and on the steering wheel.
Both sedans come equipped with an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a semi-digital driver’s console, an automatic climate control and rear AC vents. For safety, they offer six airbags as standard, a rear parking camera with sensors, and a Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) suite, including features such as Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS), Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS), etc.
Honda City Sport vs Standard City: Engine Specs
The City Sport Edition and the City V trim are powered by the tried-and-tested 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine with an output of 119 bhp at 6,600 rpm and 145 Nm at 4,300 rpm. According to Honda, the CVT automatic transmission version offers a mileage of 18.4 kmpl.
