While sedans have seen a gradual decline in popularity and sales, especially in the premium D-segment, there is no denying there’s a certain charm in sedans that SUVs can match. Toyota has officially launched the Camry in India at a price of Rs 48.00 lakh (ex-showroom), a bump of almost Rs 2 lakh. In its ninth generation now, the new Camry made its global debut in November last year.
The latest iteration gets several visual and feature upgrades over the outgoing model, even though underneath the Camry remains largely unchanged since it is based on the same TNGA-K platform. Like the current iteration, the new-gen Camry will be locally assembled in India via Completely Knocked Down (CKD) kits.
2025 Toyota Camry: Redesigned Exterior
The new Camry boasts a refined evolution in design compared to its predecessor. At the front, it features a sleeker grille flanked by redesigned LED headlights with integrated daytime running lights, complemented by a reshaped front bumper housing wider air intakes. The side profile is marked by a streamlined roofline, sculpted body panels, and 19-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels finished in black and smoke grey.
At the rear, the Camry adopts a sporty and sophisticated look with wraparound LED taillights, a rear lip spoiler, and a reimagined diffuser accented by dual-tip exhausts. Additional exterior highlights include a shark-fin antenna, chrome “CAMRY” badging, and a newly styled clamshell hood. The overall design takes cues from the US-spec Prius, blending elegance with modern aerodynamics. In addition, there are two new colour options on offer: Ocean Gem and Heavy Metal. The top-spec trim will benefit from two-tone paint schemes with a black roof.
2025 Toyota Camry: Premium Interiors and Features
The interiors of the new Camry have witnessed massive changes over the outgoing model. Highlights include a dual-tone theme with beige and black, AC vents integrated in the dashboard, a massive central transmission tunnel with a driver’s arm rest, a central 12.3-inch touchscreen and a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel.
In terms of features, the new-gen Camry comes equipped with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, USB and C-type charging ports, wireless charging, a 9-speaker JBL audio system, WiFi with 4G connectivity, connected car technology with over-the-air updates, optional heated and ventilated seats, rear armrest with touch control switches and rear seat incline functions, and more.
Safety package on the new Toyota Camry comprise nine airbags, a 360-degree parking camera for enhanced visibility, blind spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert to help prevent accidents. Additionally, Toyota will be offering the Safety Sense 3.0 package which consists of Level 2 ADAS features like adaptive cruise control, lane departure assist, road sign assist, automatic high beams, and pedestrian detection.
2025 Toyota Camry: Powertrain
Powering the 2025 Toyota Camry is the same 2.5-litre hybrid engine as the current model that can be had in front and all-wheel-drive configurations. The India-spec model gets the former only. It will receive hybrid assistance from two permanent magnet synchronous electric motors at the front axle, producing a total output of 227 bhp, a bump of 12 horses over the outgoing model. Both powertrains are paired with an eCVT automatic transmission. Toyota claims a fuel efficiency of 25.49 kmpl on the new Camry.
